Summer 2026

Morning groups for children ages 3-9 years

from 9am – 1pm
extended hours from 1pm – 3pm.

Summer!

We love the hot days and we can’t wait to spend this time with the kids in the park.

Our TOCA summer nature day camp is to run freely, to touch the earth, to hear and spy birds, to dig and find worms or beautiful treasures, to take walks in the forest and check our blackberry bushes, to feel the wind and fly kites, to climb our beloved beech tree and rest under it’s shade, to build incredible structures that can be an airplane, teepee or pirate ship, to make cookies and feed our dragons and much more.

Our mission is to encourage the children to play, explore, imagine, create, to form friendships and by doing that we are helping them to have a healthy and happy childhood. Looking forward to meet you at the park for a very fun summer time.

Let’s celebrate life and nature together again!

The minimum age is 3 years, unless your child has participated in the Spring 26 or Fall 25 season.

For Summer TOCA the minimum requirement is 6 days per child. Please find more information in the FAQ section below. As usual, we will have 2 groups: the younger ones (up to 4yrs) and the older ones (5-9yrs).

FAQs

  • We meet inside the park by the 3rd & 5th Street entrances of Prospect Park near the Litchfield Villa.

  • The minimum age of 3 years applies only to new students. For children under 3, adjusting to our program takes time—not only in separating from parents, but also in becoming comfortable with our daily rhythm and building the stamina needed for spending extended time outdoors, which is very different from an indoor preschool setting. We dedicate time over a full semester to guiding children through these transitions. During the summer, when we welcome many children of different ages for shorter periods of time, we are not able to provide the gradual transition required for new students. We developed this system because of our past experiences and as it’s in the best interest of the children.

  • Yes! Rain or shine. That said we keep an eye on the weather – if there is a thunderstorm or high winds forecast we may have to cancel.

  • For the summer the minimum is 6 days. We prefer you select the days in blocks, rather than single days spread over weeks.

If things are not clear regarding the minimums, please send us an email.

  • No worries – just shoot us an email and we’ll be happy to answer your question and help you sort it out.

Registration, cancellations, refunds:

  • 1. Before anything, please read our guidelines and if anything is unclear or you have any questions related to the summer program, please contact usfirst.

    2. When you’re ready to commit and know your dates, fill out the form; if you’re new, you have to pay a one-time registration fee.

    3. At the end of registration you have to make a payment - full amount up to $ 1600; optional split payments above that amount).

    4. As soon as your registration and deposit payment went through, you will receive a confirmation email. We will send you an invoice for the balance via Square.

    5. Your spot is considered reserved as soon as we receive the deposit. About a month before we will send out an email with important information such as location, gear, food etc.

  • Well, it depends when you cancel; if you cancel after the initial payment, but before May 1, 2026, we won’t hold you to the remaining balance; if your initial payment was the full tuition, we will refund 50%; if your initial payment was a split payment, there is no refund. If you cancel after May 1, 2026, there is no refund and tuition needs to be paid in full. Registrations after May 1, 2026 will have to be paid in full and are not refundable.

During the course of summer TOCA, if you cancel due to illness, travel or any other reason, we cannot offer any make ups or refunds, nor can any sort of credit be carried over to a future season of TOCA.

  • If it rains, we still go to the park and have fun jumping puddles; but at times that there may severe weather with high winds and/or predicted thunderstorms, we may have to cancel TOCA.

If we do have to cancel, which happens rarely, we will try to offer a make up day before summer TOCA ends. If that is not possible we will offer a 50% refund for the missed day.

If we should have to cancel a day due to unpredictable circumstances, such as a teacher’s illness and we are not able to arrange for a make up day before the end of summer TOCA, we will refund the money for the missed day.

  • We constantly keep an eye on the weather forecast and try to do our best to email you the evening before in case we have to cancel TOCA; but even with all technology available a clear answer is not always possible the evening before, in which case we email you that a cancellation is possible and then check the forecast again very early the morning of TOCA. If we need to cancel, we will send you a text and later that day follow up with an email to arrange for a make up.

  • We accept credit cards, ACH payments for the deposit. The balance can be paid via credit card, ACH, Venmo or Zelle.
