Winter 2025

February 28th

January 6th

Morning groups for children 2 years - Kindergarten

from 9am – 1pm

Mondays, Wednesdays & Fridays only.

The trees lost their leaves, everything around is bare….. that makes it easier to see further and experience the park in a very different way. Winter Wonderland!

No place to hide, but lots of room to walk through the forest and spot treasures that were hidden during the other seasons. When it freezes after the rain, we play with the ice. As soon as the snow blankets the hills, we go sledding and play with the snow and try to find treasures. We have lots of fun even when the temperature is low as we never stop exploring and learning from nature.

Children must come with the proper winter clothing to participate; insulated winter boots and coveralls and gloves and handwarmers are required; we will provide a list of recommended clothing.

We play! And there is nothing better than that.

Winter TOCA will run from January 6th- February 28th 2025

FAQs

  • We meet inside the park near the 5th Street entrance. Pickup will be by the 3rd Street entrance.

  • Yes! Rain or shine. That said we keep an eye on the weather – if there is a thunderstorm forecast, or high winds we may have to cancel.

  • Jump in puddles! Generally the rain is not the issue, but the clothing the kids wear. If the kids have the proper gear, a rainy day can be a lot of fun. That said, there are days when the amount of rain and cold temperatures (and wind) make a day pretty miserable and we may have to cancel; as when there is a thunderstorm predicted or high winds.

  • We constantly keep an eye on the weather forecast and try to do our best to email you the evening before in case we have to cancel playgroup; but even with all technology avaialble a clear answer is not always possible the evening before, in which case we check the forecast again very early the morning of playgroup. If we need to cancel, we will send you a text.

  • Yes / with limitations / no.

Yes, if we have to cancel (i.e. due to weather, air quality etc.)

With limitations if it’s due to illness.

No, if it’s due to travel, a scheduling conflict, or any other personal reason.

Detailed information can be found in the respective guidelines for Mornings, After School, School Holidays.
